The Principal

Chantal Hansen

Applied researcher, grant writer, and Population Health specialist with over a decade of experience at the intersection of place, data, and decision-making, supporting nonprofits, health institutions, and research teams across Canada. Founder and Principal Consultant at Geo-Lens.

With 15 years' experience translating complex health and social data, always grounded in the communities, populations, and systems it describes, into evidence-based grant applications, reports, and scientific communication products, I specialize in research development, evaluation, and policy impact. My work spans health, addictions, housing, employment, and population health, where I support organizations to develop fundable ideas, align outcomes with best-practice research, and produce clear, audience-specific content. I bring deep familiarity with stakeholder-driven research, outcomes data analysis, knowledge translation, and grant development across health and human services sectors.

How we work

1

Evidence first: every deliverable is grounded in documented research connected to the community, population, and context it serves

2

Sector specificity: we work in areas where we bring genuine depth

3

Academic rigour, practical output: peer-review standard translated for real audiences

4

Long-term partnership, institutional knowledge accumulates and makes each engagement stronger

Our Values & Commitments

These principles guide every project, framework, and relationship we build.

1
Clarity over Jargon

We communicate in plain language that honours complexity without creating confusion.

2
Credibility through Method

Every recommendation is grounded in evidence, tested approaches, and rigorous analysis.

3
Care in Every Interaction

We approach all work with practices that centre the dignity of the people being served.

4
Courage to Name Patterns

We don't shy away from naming systemic patterns, even when they're uncomfortable.

Sectors we work in

We work in clearly defined sectors where we bring genuine depth, not generic consulting adapted for context.
